Drain pump blockages are the most frequent call, and as with any front-loader the filter behind the lower access panel is the first thing to check. Door lock assemblies are a known weak point on several Samsung model years, presenting either as a machine that will not start or one that will not release at the end of a cycle. Door boot seals go moldy on the same schedule as every other front-loader. Bearing noise appears on higher-mileage machines.
4E indicates a water supply problem — check both taps are fully open, the hoses are not kinked, and the inlet valve screens are not clogged with sediment. 5E is a drain fault, and points at the filter, hose or pump. UE or UB is an unbalanced load; redistribute before assuming anything is broken. DC means the door is not closed or the lock has failed. LE indicates a leak detected in the base.

It depends more on the specific fault than it does with most brands. Drain, boot seal and door lock repairs on a Samsung front-loader are routine and economical, and they cover the large majority of calls. Where it gets less clear is on the model years with known door-lock or control-board weaknesses, or where a part turns out to be slow to source — a machine sitting unusable for three weeks has a real cost of its own. Ask your technician up front whether the part is in the local supply chain, because that answer changes the calculation as much as the price does. On a newer machine, a repair is almost always the better economics.
